MoveTalk #06 : Sui Object Display Standard

“MoveTalk is a monthly event series organized by Web3Lab and its partners, with a primary focus on the technological aspects of the Move programming language and Move-based blockchains, particularly Sui”

MoveTalk #06 focused on the Sui Object Display Standard, with the aim of giving attendees a comprehensive grasp of how it works, how to manage the display of off-chain data, increase flexibility, and customize how data is displayed. Furthermore, you can learn in detail about leveraging trust using multi-sign and the important role of feeding DApps using python.network in Oracle.

We're glad you're here for MoveTalk #06: Sui Object Display Standard!

This workshop was put on by Web3Lab in association with Sui Foundation, Sui Global, and Global KOLs Community, which brings together elite partners from the Sui network to impart priceless information and insights to developers of Move-based languages.

Participants in this thrilling event had the chance to delve deeply into the blockchain industry and investigate the disruptive possibilities of Move-based languages. MoveTalk #06 was a lively and educational event where participants acquired a thorough understanding of the most recent advancements in the sector.

In order to provide attendees with a thorough understanding of how it operates, how to control the display of off-chain data, boost flexibility, and personalize how data is displayed, MoveTal#k06 focused on the Sui Object Display Standard. Additionally, you can discover in depth information on Oracle's multi-sign trust leveraging and python.network's crucial function in feeding DApps.

Speaker

In MoveTalk #05 - The Age of CLOB, we were honored to have a lineup of esteemed speakers who were experts in their respective fields. They shared their knowledge and insights, providing valuable perspectives on Standard and its implications.

Aaron - CTO of Web3Lab

Daniel Lam - DevRel Engineer of Sui Foundation

Simon Ha - Product Manager of Kyber Network

Part 1: Leverage trust using multi-sign

Speaker: Aaron - Co-founder & CTO of Web3Lab

During MoveTalk #06, we dived into leverage trust using multi-sign. Led by Aaron Nguyen, Founder & CTO of Web3Lab, the three main issues mentioned are: Multisign wallet, native multisign on Sui, and multisign on MSafe.

A multisign wallet is an electronic wallet designed to allow multiple users to control access to assets and transactions on the wallet. Instead of having a single user in control of the entire wallet, a multisign wallet requires at least two or more digital signatures from different users to execute transactions on the wallet, ensuring safety and security for these transactions.

Furthermore, Aaron also informed us about the important features of Native multisign and its benefits.Native multisign on Sui is a special feature available on the Sui platform, allowing users to perform transactions and control access to assets on the Sui platform through multiple digital signatures from different users. This feature ensures safety and security for transactions on Sui, while also giving users complete control.

Finally, he also emphasized that MSafe helps ensure safety and security for personal and business accounts through multiple digital signatures from different users.

Part 2: Sui Object Display Standard

Speaker: Daniel Lam - DevRel Engineer of Sui Foundation

This is the main topic of today's workshop presented by our VIP guest - Daniel Lam from Sui Foundation, who will delve into unique objects. The SODS is a template engine for on-chain management of off-chain object representation. It allows substitution of data for an object into a template string, without limiting the fields that can be set. Sui utility objects enable authorization for capabilities, and the type of object representation depends on the scenario.

He also emphasizes on typical objects with data duplication, unique objects with dynamic representation, and objects with unique static content. For example, the Capy game API service uses dynamic image generation for Capys that change appearance based on attributes and user-initiated changes.

On the other hand, an immutable object with unique static content is the simplest scenario for applying a metadata standard.

Part 3: Feeding DeFi DApps using Oracle

Speaker: Simon Ha - Product Manager of Kyber Network

—------------------------- View slide here —---------------------

In this segment, Simoncovered several topics related to DeFi price oracles, including an overview of what they are and how they work. He also discussed the differences between on-chain and off-chain oracles and how they are used in DeFi. In addition, the speaker provided insights on how Pyth.network is utilized to feed SUI Dapps.

Furthermore, he explained the differences between on-chain and the most popular blockchain oracles, and shared some real-world use cases for oracles. These oracles are generally more affordable to operate, but may have slower data processing times and can be less reliable than on-chain oracles.

For example, oracles can be used to provide real-time pricing data for collateral assets in a lending platform, to trigger insurance payouts based on external events, or to track the movement of goods in a supply chain.

Part 4: Q & A

We delved deep into the aforementioned topics with seasoned experts in the blockchain field. Their insights and perspectives enriched our listeners with a wealth of valuable information. Through this process, we gained a more profound understanding of the issues at hand and collected a plethora of insightful knowledge from experienced individuals
