“MoveTalk is a monthly event series organized by Web3Lab and its partners, with a primary focus on the technological aspects of the Move programming language and Move-based blockchains, particularly Sui”
We're glad you're here for MoveTalk #07: Sui Ecosystem Panorama!
Web3Lab put on this workshop in association with the Sui Foundation, Sui Global, and Global KOLs Community, Suipiens, Desig, and Hak Research which brings together elite partners to impart priceless information and insights to developers of Move-based languages and the future of Blockchain.
MoveTalk #07 was an engaging event that allowed participants to delve into the blockchain industry and explore the disruptive potential of Move-based languages. It served as a platform for attendees to acquire a deep understanding of the latest advancements in the sector.
During the event, participants gained comprehensive insights into Sui projects, their efficient functionality, the operational mechanisms of non-EVM systems, and predictions for the future of Sui. Additionally, they had the opportunity to explore the distinctive features of multisig and understand the workings of the cross-chain Layer0 within the Sui ecosystem.
Overall, MoveTalk #07 provided an educational and dynamic experience, empowering participants with valuable knowledge about the Sui ecosystem and its exciting prospects.
Speaker
During MoveTalk #07 - SUI Ecosystem Panorama, we had the privilege of hosting a distinguished panel of speakers who were renowned experts in their fields. They graciously shared their expertise and insights, offering valuable perspectives on an overview of the SUI ecosystem, leaving attendees with a deeper understanding of its significance in the blockchain industry.
Ryan Nguyen - Co-Founder of Desig.
Quang Truong - Founder of Hak Research.
Aaron Nguyen - CTO of Web3Lab.
Part 1: MPC - TSS Overview: Application to Multisig
Speaker: Ryan Nguyen - Co-Founder of Desig

During MoveTalk #07, we dived into MPC - TSS Overview: Application to Multisig. Led by Ryan Nguyen, Co-Founder of Desig, the four main issues mentioned are: Multi-Party Computation (MPC), Shamir's Secret Sharing (SSS), Threshold Signature Scheme (TSS), and Homomorphic Encryption (HE).
MPC is a cryptographic technique that enables secure collaboration while protecting participants' privacy. It is relevant in Multisig, which requires multiple signatures for transactions.
SSS is a crucial component of MPC, dividing secrets into shares distributed among participants. TSS allows collective signature generation without one individual possessing the complete signing key.
Homomorphic Encryption (HE) enables computations on encrypted data, preserving privacy. It ensures confidentiality and integrity in collaborative computations.
Part 2: SUI Ecosystem Panorama
Speaker: Quang Truong - Founder of Hak Research

In today's workshop, our speaker Quang Truong from Hak Research will focus on a fascinating subject. The main highlight is the SEP, a template engine designed for managing off-chain object representation on-chain. It provides the flexibility to substitute data into a template string for an object, without any restrictions on the fields that can be set. Additionally, Sui utility objects play a crucial role in granting authorization for capabilities, and the choice of object representation depends on the specific scenario.
In the workshop, Quang Truong highlighted the key factors for achieving success with Non-EVM (Non-Ethereum Virtual Machine) environments. These factors include the importance of a strong project team, a thriving community, and hackathon events.
Furthermore, Quang Truong specifically mentioned the prominent conchains within the Sui Ecosystem. He skillfully presented statistical figures regarding Sui and how it has garnered significant attention and participation from the community.
What's more, he highlighted the rapid and diverse development process of the Sui ecosystem. In particular, he mentioned several standout projects on Sui, including Cetus, Kriya, NAVI, Scallop, Turbos, and Typus Finance. The most recent addition to this list is the SeaPad launchpad, which has recently been listed on the MEXC exchange.
This demonstrates the immense potential of Sui in the future, Sui is well-positioned to shape the future of blockchain technology and play a pivotal role in the decentralized revolution. As the ecosystem continues to evolve and attract more participants, the potential for innovation, disruption, and transformative impact grows exponentially.
Part 3: Leverage cross-chain with LayerZero
Speaker: Aaron - Co-founder & CTO of Web3Lab
—------------------------- View slide here —---------------------
Leveraging cross-chain functionality with LayerZero enhances interoperability in the blockchain ecosystem. It enables seamless asset transfer and communication between different blockchain networks. Projects integrating LayerZero can enjoy the efficient exchange of digital assets across multiple chains. It improves scalability and throughput for cross-chain transactions. LayerZero fosters collaboration and synergy among blockchain projects. It allows seamless integration of decentralized applications (DApps) from various chains. Developers can leverage the strengths and features of different networks.
LayerZero promotes a more connected and efficient blockchain ecosystem. It eliminates the need for intermediaries in asset transfers. LayerZero ensures a smoother user experience. It unlocks new possibilities for blockchain projects.
Part 4: Minigame
Workshop 07 organized a mini-game for participants, utilizing Kahoot as the platform. Five winners emerged from the competitive quiz, showcasing their knowledge and quick thinking. They were rewarded with small prizes, fostering camaraderie and inspiring others to expand their knowledge. The mini-game added an interactive and memorable element to the workshop.
Part 5: Networking
At the end of the session, our attendees engaged in lively conversations and networking during the tea break. Participants had the opportunity to interact with both fellow attendees and the speakers, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and experiences. The informal atmosphere allowed for valuable discussions and connections to be formed, creating a sense of community and collaboration among all those present.
The tea break served as a valuable time for building relationships and further enriching the overall workshop experience.
